Rock engravings The first Italian UNESCO site, the Camonica Valley is one of the largest collections of prehistoric petroglyphs in the world!
UNESCO has recognized over 140,000 figures, but new uninterrupted discoveries have progressively increased the overall number of cataloged incisions, up to three hundred thousand. The rock art in Val Camonica is reported on about 2000 rocks in over 180 locations including 24 municipalities and 8 parks equipped for visiting.
